Meet the POEC Board Members

Interim Director (all campuses)

Hi! I'm Julie Baer. I was born in Colorado Springs, CO to a military family and have spent the past 24 years globetrotting as a military spouse. Living all over has been a great experience with Alaska being my favorite. In my past life, I taught Pre-K and Kindergarten before staying home to raise my 3 kids.

Our family enjoys game nights, theater productions, swimming, hiking, and watching the Denver Broncos. I have served as both PTA president and secretary in the past and look forward to getting to know all the great families of the Syracuse Arts community!

Treasurer (all campuses)

My name is Misty Peterson and I have two kids that go to the Antelope elementary campus. I am also a substitute teacher for SAA and one of the blow-up dragons you see at events. My family and I moved here from Arizona in June 2021. My husband was transferred from Luke AFB to Hill AFB. We love camping, traveling, and exploring new places!

I have a degree in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Women's Studies. Previously, I was the office manager for HomeTeam Pest Defense, managing all the finances for the branch including payroll, month end, and all petty cash.  My real passion, believe it or not, is accounting and I have a NACPB (National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers) certificate. I am excited to serve on the POEC Board this year!

Jr. High President

Hi! I'm Jen Welch! I have an 8th grader that has been attending SAA since Kindergarten as well as a new Kindergartner. I lived most of my life in interior Alaska but have called Syracuse home for the last 10 years. We absolutely love the community and are proud to be a part of it.

My family and I enjoy attending concerts together, especially ones that involve travel! I work for a local marketing agency, handling reputation management and public relations for all of our clients. I am excited to be involved and serve in this capacity!

Jr. High Vice President

My name is Alma Hansen.  I love to travel, be outdoors, explore nature and discover new places with my family. I seek to befriend people wherever I go; it is fascinating to discover how wonderful they are!  I have earned a Bachelors in Visual Information Design, a Masters in Public Communication and a Masters in Governance and Globalization with an emphasis in International Management.

I am passionate about international relations, service and my family. I believe that being involved in the community can create a big impact, benefiting all those who work and laugh together to achieve a common goal.

Antelope President

Hi! My name is Adrienne Murray. I grew up in a military family, but settled in Utah several years ago with my husband and cute kids. We moved to the area last summer and have jumped right in to all things SAA! I have a background in Family & Consumer Sciences Education and taught Junior High Foods and Teen Living in Utah County for seven years. Food is my love language and kitchen dance parties are my jam.  Currently, it’s my job to chauffeur my five humans all over planet earth to their many activities. They are in 10th, 8th, 3rd, 1st, and "home gnome" grades.

I’m passionate about supporting our schools, the students, and the staff, so I have been involved in parent volunteer organizations with my kids’ schools for the past several years. I look forward to continuing to serve, get to know more families, and be involved in the many wonderful things happening at SAA!

Antelope Vice President

Hi, I'm Meghan Livesey. I have 3 kids, my oldest son is in high school, my daughter is in 2nd grade and my youngest son is in kindergarten at SAA (Antelope). I have been a stay-at-home-mom for 3 years now. Before that I worked for a company for many years working with a great team, helping set up customers around the state. I really want to help get more parent involvement and support. I am one of the school's dragons that shows up to help promote POEC events. I love being involved with my children's schools and I am very excited for this upcoming school year!

North President

Hello, I'm Angela Klippel. As a devoted mother of three (a 34-year-old daughter and 8-year-old twin boys in third grade), I'm deeply invested in the SAA community. I've been actively supporting classrooms, field trips, the library, and choir for the past 3 years.

I am excited to bring to the POEC my leadership and experience that I have gained over a decade of running successful businesses. I currently own a spa business and academy training center for licensed nurses, estheticians, and cosmetologists, utilizing my 18 years of experience as a Master Esthetician and 17 years of experience as a licensed master educator. I also run a thriving computer business and have over 10 years of experience as a national EMT.

I'm passionate about helping others and look forward to supporting the important work that the POEC does to ensure the success of the school’s extracurricular activities.
