Rules of Participation
Pay Participation fees Here
All students are expected to be on their best behavior during rehearsals and performances. This is incredibly important, so please talk with your child about following these rules:
Do not leave the gym without permission.
Students are only allowed to use the restroom just outside the gym doors during rehearsal (between the gym and cafeteria doors), and must have permission from a director or adult volunteer.
No wandering halls. Once school is out, students are not permitted to go upstairs, in classrooms, or be anywhere aside from the gym or other areas designated by adults. The school has security cameras, and breaking this rule may lead to dismissal from the musical.
Participants must listen, do their best, and be respectful to directors and peers.
Participants should spend time at home learning their part (especially main characters) and come prepared for rehearsals.
Have fun! (Of course!)
If a student is struggling to follow these rules during rehearsals, their parents/guardians may be contacted. Parents may be asked to attend rehearsals to supervise their child, the student may be dismissed from the musical, or other actions may be taken as determined by the musical directors.
Helpful Information
Tickets: $6.00, will go on sale November 6 (tentatively). Watch for an email from POEC.
We need your help to make the musical a success! Sign up here to volunteer.
How do we pick cast members? 3rd and 4th graders are generally put in the ensemble, while the main cast is generally reserved for older students, with some exceptions. For main characters, we're looking for an ability to project, bold personalities, ability to bring a character's personality to life, and students who will memorize their lines and be respectful.
Communication
We will be using the app BAND to communicate with parents. Lots of helpful information will be provided, so please download this app and keep up on announcements!
Costuming
If you have a costume or would like to make/buy your child's costume, please contact us at saa.poec.north@gmail.com. Costuming 80 kids is a big task, and we appreciate the help. The director will decide if your costume works for our play, and we'll let you know quickly. Otherwise, costuming will be provided. Your child may be asked to wear some general items (tights, black pants, etc.) to supplement their costume.
